Coniston
The tremendous landscape of streams, lakes and mountains
including the Coniston Old Man, which rises to 2,633
feet and can be walked in various ways to suit all
abilities, and Dow Crag provides some of the best
rock climbing in Great Britain, while lake-shore walks
to Torver are very popular. Grizedale Forest, which
is not far away, is the ideal landscape for mountain
biking.
Tarn Hows
One of the best-known places in the Lake District
visited by some three-quarters of a million people
a year. This view looks almost due north across the
foot of the Langdale valleys towards Helvellyn.
Coniston Water
The lake is only 10 minite walk from the village where
you can enjoy the water on the Steam Yacht Gondola,

The Coniston Launch offers more of a tradional and
electric cruise, powered by solar panels and low pollution

Donald Campbell
Coniston Water is where he lost his life attempting
the world water speed record in the famous Bluebird
boat. His body is now laid to rest in the local cemetery.

Home of John Ruskin where you can visit by cruising

Go Ape
An award-winning high wire forest adventure course
of rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip slides up to

Horse Riding
Spoon Hall is a local riding school only 10 minutes
walk away where you can enjoy horse riding along the
scenic fells overlooking Coniston Lake. Bookings can
